United States v. K.R. - Supervised Release Violation - TIME SERVED- no extension of supervision
Client, who served time several years prior, and was on supervised release, was noticed for a violation on a positive drug test as well as a state domestic assault charge. Client was hard-working, had a good job, and helped aging his parents. Ms. Carmichael entered the case, and successfully argued for her client to be released on bond. Ms. Carmichael then conducted her own investigation in coordination with client's attorney on the state charge, and gathered evidence to show flaws in the Government's allegations. After negotiating with the Government, the prosecutor agreed to dismiss one of the violations, and recommend time-served on the other, leaving the client with no additional jail time, and no increase in the length of his supervision!
